Is Scentsy Harmful?
No Scentsy is not Harmful. Scentsy products are designed to be safe and flame free so they create no toxins, soot or harmful bi-products. In Europe and the UK Scentsy wax warmers melt the wax using a hot plate so its low temperature. This means there is zero risk of burns or injuries to children or pets from flames or spilt wax. Use Scentsy Safely by using our Scentsy Wax and Oils as instructed and only in our Scentsy Warmers and Diffusers. If you do then the fragrance is safe for breathing in and non toxic to humans.
Is Scentsy Safe For Animals?
Scentsy is safe for pets because the Wax Melts and Electric Warmers create fragrance with no flame, soot or toxins. Therefore with Scentsy Electric Warmers there’s no worry about tails catching fire or noses getting a burn from sniffing flames. Scentsy Wax Bars produce a stronger level of fragrance than traditional candles because they melt at only 56 deg c. So Scentsy is safe for animals because it is flameless and low temperature.
However some have concerns that Essential Oils, like Eucalyptus/ Cinnamon, may not be safe for use around pets, especially Cats. Personally we have never had any issues from using Scentsy for 7 years with our dogs, cats or fish. However, we know it is toxic to place essential oils direct on any pet or human skin. Our Scentsy natural oils are created only for use in our Scentsy Diffusers. Also some Vets claim parrots and birds shouldn’t be around any fragrance products including Scentsy. We recommend if you have concerns about Scentsy being safe for animals you ask an expert.
What is Scentsy Wax Made From?
The official answer’s ‘Scentsy Wax Bars are a secret combination of ingredients. Scentsy uses a food-grade petroleum based wax’, also called Paraffin Wax. We don’t burn our wax, instead Electric Wax Warmers melt the Scentsy Wax so no harmful chemicals or pollutants are released. Therefore using Paraffin wax in our Scentsy Wax Bars creates a perfectly safe, clean and non toxic fragrance experience.

How Many Hours Does A Scentsy Bar last?
A Scentsy Bar will last approximately 80 to 100 hours of use, depending on fragrance type and strength. Strong fragrances will seem to last longer because our brain takes longer to switch off to them. This is called Anosmia. The oils in strong fragrances also require higher temperatures to evaporate – cinnamons, amber, musk etc. However fruit oils melt away at 52 deg c (our warmers are about 56 deg c) so appear weaker.
Where you place your wax warmer in a room also be affects how well it works. Common complaints are the smell wont travel far or its faint. To avoid this place your warmer in high footfall areas so the fragrance moves around. In addition if you are using it in a large room and high ceiling area add in more cubes.
The weather, humidity and other factors also affect how long our Scentsy bars last. You see if your warmer is in a draft it wont melt the bars as fast to release scent. Humidity means the water in the washes out the fragrance molecules. Science geek time – carpets and curtains soak up fragrance molecules. When using air conditioning in your home place your Scentsy near so the air blast spreads the fragrance around.
