No Scentsy is not a pyramid scheme!
We get asked often is Scentsy is a pyramid scheme by people interested in becoming consultants – i even checked it out when i joined. The answer is NO!
Scentsy is not a pyramid scheme. We are a party plan company, not even an MLM which is a company that people join mainly to get cheaper products. At Scentsy we host house parties and sell products and get the majority of our income from selling these products. You will notice that this definition I just gave is very different to that of pyramid scheme:
A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves promising participants payment or services, primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, rather than supplying any real investment or sale of products or services to the public. (source: Wikipedia).
So lets recap why Scentsy is NOT a pyramid scheme
- At Scentsy we retail tangible end products (is things you can touch and smell) – Scentsy warmers, wax melts, Buddys etc
- We NEVER get paid for enrolling any new consultants – pyramid schemes rewards soley for joining people up
- We are also paid based on our sales not on our teams work. Yes, we do get a bonis on the entire teams sales which comes from our work mentoring them. HOWEVER we only get these bonuses on our teams if WE make our personal sales targets (which are increased when we become team leaders).
- In addition at Scentsy we don’t get any residual income – other companies will give you a guaranteed income when you reach a certain level. However we love that Scentsy doesn’t. Leaders only earn if they work!
