Thinking about becoming a Scentsy Consultant? Here are honest answers to the questions we’re asked most, from someone who has run a Scentsy business since the very first day it launched in the UK. Written by Alexandra Watson of Wickfree Candles, Independent Scentsy Consultant since April 2011, SuperStar Director.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to join Scentsy in the UK?
The UK Starter Kit costs under £100 including shipping, though the exact price and contents change from time to time with current offers. The kit includes a warmer, scented wax melts testers, catalogues and three free months of your own Scentsy website.
How much commission do Scentsy consultants earn?
New consultants earn 20% commission on their first 1,000 points of lifetime Personal Retail Volume. Once you reach Certified Consultant status, you can earn 25% commission in months where you sell 250 PRV or more, plus a 5% bonus when monthly sales exceed 2,000 PRV.
Do I need to hold stock to sell Scentsy?
No, there is no requirement to hold any stock as a Scentsy Consultant. Orders are placed through your Scentsy Workstation or personal website and shipped directly from Scentsy to the customer.
Is Scentsy a pyramid scheme?
No. Scentsy is a direct-selling company that sells genuine, physical products to real customers, and consultants earn commissions on those sales rather than purely on recruiting others. Scentsy is a member of the Direct Selling Association and follows its Code of Ethics.
Do I have to hold parties to sell Scentsy?
No, parties are one option but not a requirement. Many consultants build their business entirely online, through social media, their personal website and word of mouth, without ever hosting an in-person party.
How much does the Scentsy website cost after the free period?
Your personal Scentsy website is free for the first three months, then £10 a month after that if you choose to continue. There is no obligation, and you can switch the subscription on or off as suits your business.
Is joining Scentsy worth it?
That depends entirely on your goals. If you are weighing it up against buying as a customer instead, our Scentsy Club FAQs cover the subscription route too. For some, joining is a way to earn extra income around family or other work, and for others, like us, it has grown into a full-time SuperStar Director business over more than a decade. There is no pressure to build a team, and you can go at whatever pace suits you.
What support do new Scentsy consultants get?
New consultants get access to Scentsy’s own training centre, marketing materials and ongoing product training, plus day-to-day support from their sponsor. As a long-established UK team, we support new consultants directly alongside Scentsy’s own resources.
