How to Use Multi-Wick Scentsy Candles the Right Way
Let’s learn how to use Multi-Wick Scentsy Candles the right way. It’s the key to achieving the ultimate fragrance experience — and keeping things safe, stylish, and soot-free.
Launching in the USA and Canada this September, with the rest of the world to follow shortly, our new Scentsy Candles feature premium soy-blend wax, clean-burning wicks, and fragrances you already know and love — but now with an extra layer of glow.
And in some designs, that glow comes with more than one wick.
So, what’s the deal with multiple wicks? Why do some candles have them, and how do you see multi-wick Scentsy Candles? Let’s shine a light on all your questions…
Why Multi-Wick Candles Exist
The larger the candle vessel, the more wax there is to melt — and the more fragrance there is to release. But a single wick can only do so much. That’s where multi-wick designs come in.
Scentsy uses multiple wicks in our larger candles to:
- Create an even burn across the full surface
- Prevent tunnelling (that dreaded dip where wax sticks to the sides)
- Maximise scent throw by evenly melting more wax
- Add to the aesthetic experience with a more radiant glow
How to use Multi-Wick Scentsy Candles correctlt isn’t just about looking pretty (though we’re not mad about that). It’s about performance, safety, and quality — exactly what Scentsy is known for.

How to Use Multi-Wick Scentsy Candles the Right Way
Follow these tips on how to use Multi-Wick Scentsy Candles to get the most from your candle and avoid common mistakes
1. Always Light Every Wick at Once
Never light just one or two wicks.
Burning all wicks together ensures the wax melts evenly and prevents tunnelling or wax imbalance.
2. Trim Every Wick to 0.6 cm Before Each Burn
Long wicks = large flames = uneven burning and more soot.
Use scissors or a wick trimmer to keep them short and safe.
3. Burn for a Maximum of 4 Hours
Please don’t overdo it. Burning for longer can overheat the jar and reduce fragrance performance. Four hours is the sweet spot.
4. Let the Wax Pool Reach the Edges
On the first burn, let the candle melt across the top. This sets the “memory ring” and avoids tunnelling on future burns.
5. Re-centre and Clean Wicks When Cooled
After extinguishing, gently re-centre wicks if they lean. Remove any debris (like trimmed wick bits) before relighting.
What Not to Do With Multi-Wick Candles
- Don’t blow out only one wick mid-burn — it will disrupt the wax balance.
- Don’t pour off melted wax — you’ll waste fragrance and mess with performance.
- Don’t relight until everything is cool and wicks are trimmed again.
Can I Reuse the Scentsy Candle Jar?
Absolutely! Once you reach 0.6 cm of wax remaining at the bottom (yes, it’s meant to be there for safety), let the wax cool, clean out the jar, and repurpose it.
These gorgeous vessels are designed to double as décor — a pencil holder, a plant pot, and makeup brush storage. Anyone reading any other cool ideas? Please share them in the comments section.
