I am a Scentsy Director Boot Camp Graduate
I just returned from a trip stateside where I became the first ever European director to attend and graduate from Scentsy’s Director Boot Camp. This camp aims to give Directors the tools and skills they need to become the best leaders in the company. The training camp took place at Scentsy Commons, our purpose-built company headquarters in Boise Idaho, which i have always wanted to see. It was the trip of a lifetime and much fun was had and friends made – we did even manage to learn a few useful things as well.
I arrived in Boise a few days early and had the most fun hanging out with another Scentsy Star Director, Becky and her family. We visited Table Rock Mountain and her wonderful children introduced me to Displaicble Me and White Chocolate Popcorn, Root Bear Floats and Cinnamon Roll. Becky also threw a lovely dinner for me and the Australian Directors who were attending and we were surprised to find Orville and Heidi Thompson (Scentsy CEO and President) were there. It felt like a great family party
Next day we started boot camp all dressed as super heros to mark the fact that our Boot Camp was nearly cancelled in August but we had to rescued it. We cracked on with lessons in leadership, balancing working from home and having a life and enjoyed some talks from several succesful Scentsy Superstar Directors. It was inspiring to here their stroies of success and to know the lifechanging incomes we could all be earning if we keep working hard.
Day two included a visit to the place Scentsy consultants worldwide refer to as THE FARM. This is the place the billion dollar direct sales company was born and where the first Scentsy bars were first poured by hand and wrapped in clingfilm. We got to sit in Orville’s office and see the boardroom with its car seat chairs and old door as a makeshift table.
We enjoyed a wonderful graduation dinner and I was really excited to spend some quality time again with Elaine and Leon Thompson (Orville’s mum and dad) who we met in Las Vegas and had so much fun with on our Med Cruise Incentive trip in 2013. This picture celebrates me being the first european graduate.
This trip was everything i had hoped for and much much more. I have made some brilliant new friends with directors from the USA, Canada, Mexico and Australia. We are all very excited for a reunion in Cancun, Mexico when we met in January for our Leadership retreat. I also got to star in a new Scentsy Corporate video whilst there but i will tell you more about that in the next blog ;-).
