Frequently Asked Questions
What are Scentsy wax melts?
Scentsy wax melts are bars of scented wax that you break into cubes and melt in an electric Scentsy warmer. The wax is gently warmed by a low-watt bulb or heating element rather than burned, so it releases fragrance without a flame, smoke, or soot. Each bar contains 8 break-apart cubes.
How long do Scentsy wax melts last?
Scentsy states that most bars last between 40 and 100 hours of warming time, depending on the fragrance, room size and temperature. Each bar contains 8 break-apart cubes. In our 15 years of daily use, Scentsy fragrances sit at the top of that range and often beyond it. We have had Snowberry cubes warming for two full days and still going strong, while lighter fresh and citrus scents fade sooner.
How do you use Scentsy wax melts?
Break one or two cubes from the bar, place them in the dish of your Scentsy warmer and switch it on. The wax melts within minutes and releases fragrance until the scent is used up. The wax does not evaporate, so when the fragrance fades you simply remove the old wax and add fresh cubes.
Are Scentsy wax melts safe around children and pets?
Scentsy wax melts are designed as a safer alternative to burning candles because they produce no flame, smoke, or soot. The melted wax reaches just above body temperature, so it will not scald on contact the way burning candle wax can. As with any home fragrance product, use warmers on a stable surface out of reach of small children and pets.
How do I remove old wax from my warmer?
The easiest way is the cotton ball method. With the wax fully melted, switch the warmer off and drop one or two cotton balls into the dish. They absorb the wax in seconds and lift straight out into the bin. Alternatively, let the wax set, warm the dish for a minute or two and the whole disc slides out.
Do you add water to a Scentsy warmer?
No, Scentsy warmers use only wax and never water. If you are thinking of a water-based product, it is an oil diffuser, which is a separate Scentsy product line. Wax goes in warmers; water and oil go in diffusers.
How many cubes should I use at once?
One or two cubes is right for most rooms. A single cube suits a small bedroom or bathroom, while two cubes suit a living room or open-plan space. Many warmer dishes are stamped with the recommended number of cubes for that model. Using more cubes makes the scent stronger but uses the bar up faster.
What is a Scentsy warmer and how does it work?
A Scentsy warmer is an electric ceramic or glass warmer that melts scented wax melts using a low-watt light bulb or a built-in heating element. It plugs into a normal UK socket and warms the wax just enough to release fragrance, without burning it. Warmers come in full-size, mini plug-in and tabletop designs.
What is the difference between a bulb warmer and an element warmer?
Bulb warmers melt wax with the heat of a light bulb and give off a warm glow, so they double as accent lighting. Element warmers use a hidden heating plate and no light, which suits bedrooms and other spaces where you want fragrance without illumination. Both melt wax to the same temperature and give the same fragrance performance.
Which bulb does my Scentsy warmer need?
Scentsy warmers take 15-watt, 20-watt, or 25-watt bulbs depending on the model. Mini warmers take 15-watt bulbs, most mid-size warmers take 20-watt bulbs, and most full-size warmers take 25-watt bulbs. You can find every replacement bulb in our Scentsy bulbs and accessories shop.
How much electricity does a Scentsy warmer use?
Very little. A full-size Scentsy warmer uses at most a 25-watt bulb or element, which is a fraction of the power of a kettle or toaster. Running a 25-watt warmer for 8 hours uses 0.2 kWh of electricity, so the running cost is a matter of pence per day.
Do Scentsy warmers have a warranty?
Yes, Scentsy warmers carry a lifetime replacement warranty against manufacturing defects. Any warmer with a manufacturing defect or electrical issue can be returned through your consultant for repair or replacement with no time limit. Scentsy diffusers, Scentsy Go and the Scentsy Air Purifier carry a limited lifetime warranty too.
What is a plug-in mini wax warmer?
A plug-in mini wax warmer is a compact Scentsy warmer that plugs directly into a wall socket, with no trailing lead. It melts wax using a 15-watt bulb and is suitable for hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, and smaller rooms. Many designs are available with or without illumination.
