What a unique setting the Blackrock Secret Garden Market is in the beautiful fishing village of Blackrock Co Louth.
In the 1950s and 60s, Blackrock was a holiday destination for people in landlocked Monaghan and Cavan. The beach that is pictured in the colourised postcards of that era (still on sale) was created with sand imported from beaches further down the coast, as the sand was continually washed away to contribute to the buildup of silt in Dundalk Bay. Although it is no longer considered a tourist resort, there remains a tradition of visiting Blackrock on the 15th of August for the farmers day festival.
1000s of people will be venturing to the seaside resort of Blackrock Co Louth on August 15th and i will be taking a stall with my Scentsy Wickless Candles at the festival market.
The market takes place in the grounds behind Mullens Chip Shop in Blackrock and what a unique setting it is. I will be in the ranch at the back of the market and you will be able to smell the scents as you walk in. Make sure you pop in too the Crosscause Charity Shop too as thy raise money for a great cause....
Only a short blog today but i hope too see you on August 15th, for more info on the market contact [email protected]
